The college years are often referred to as the best years in one’s life. It is a time when students engage their intellect, forge their individual identities and explore future life paths. Students develop a greater sense of independence, encounter differing world views, form meaningful relationships, and develop interpersonal skills for navigating through the many opportunities and challenges of a new environment. Ideally, this can be an opportunity for maturation and self-discovery. It can also be a time when students typically experience heightened levels of stress as they adjust to normal developmental changes.
